University of Massachusetts presents an annual Colorectal and Pancreatic Symposium which is open to the public and there is no charge. Both these groups present lectures,exhibits and offer  free food and parking for the day.

It is a special day for the community and is presented by physicians and providers of U Mass Memorial Medical Center and U Mass Medical School. The Colon Cancer Symposiums will give updates on the latest treatments for colon and rectal cancer. Other topics covered are risk factors for colon and rectal cancer as well as steps to prevent colon cancer and how screening can identify it early.

In 2009 the former mayor of Worcester, Jordan Levy was the keynote speaker and in 2010 the former Health Commissioner of Worcester Dr. Leonard Morse will be speaking.
